If I don’t have a profile on LinkedIn, does that mean that I can’t get an infographic?
Yes, unfortunately it does. We tried, but we couldn’t pull enough information from Facebook profiles in order to make an infographic that looked good. Sorry, but you should consider creating a LinkedIn profile so you can get an infographic resume!
What can I do to optimize the look of my infographic resume? What should I update in LinkedIn and Facebook?
Ready for a long answer? Our smart development team made up a really cool algorithm (that’s why we pay ‘em the big bucks) that will scan your Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter profiles, read data points, and display that data based on the depth and quality of information available.
Therefore, each infographic is going to look slightly different. Some may show your interests, some your work-life balance, and others your social media presence.
Generally, here’s what you can do to optimize the look of your infographic:
- Enter all schools that have awarded you a degree and all professional and volunteer positions you’ve held (or at least the ones you want on your infographic resume!) on your LinkedIn profile. This will create the most complete Career Timeline.
- Link your Twitter account to one or both networks to show your Twitter savvy. On Facebook, you can customize the app so that your tweets will not automatically post to your profile (most of us on Team Brazen do this), so this might be the route to go if that’s important to you. Here is the Twitter app and then just uncheck the box on one of the steps that reads “Allow Twitter to post updates to Facebook profile.”
- On LinkedIn, make sure you have the specialties and skills section filled out, this could be anything from special skills to languages to interests.
- On LinkedIn, list awards and/or patents you’ve received.
- Ask for recommendations from former colleagues and bosses on LinkedIn! Your number of recommendations will show up on your infographic resume.
- Make sure you’re connecting with your network on LinkedIn to display your network reach.
- Include books, music, and sports in your Facebook Interests.
Here’s some tips for earning more badges:
- Again, make sure you have the most updated information and complete information on your Facebook and LinkedIn profiles!
- Download the Causes app (http://apps.facebook.com/causes/?ref=ts) on Facebook and support at least three of them to get the Do-Gooder badge.
- On Facebook, include sports (for the Health Nut badge) and books (for the work-life balance in your infographic) in your Interests on your profile.
- Join 10 groups on Facebook and/or LinkedIn to get the Team Player badge.
- Like your friend’s updates on Facebook that you find interesting, funny or engaging – it will help you earn the Positivity badge (30 likes needed for positivity badge)!
- Link your Twitter account to one or both networks to start earning your Social Media badge. On Facebook, you can customize the app so that your tweets will not automatically post to your profile (most of us on Team Brazen do this), so this might be the route to go if that’s important to you. Here is the Twitter app and then just unclick the box on one of the steps that reads “Allow Twitter to post updates to Facebook profile.”
My credentials are showing up as one long sentence – why?
Your credentials may be showing up as a long sentence on your infographic resume because of the way your Specialties are entered on LinkedIn. In order for your LinkedIn Specialties to look good in your infographic resume, make it a list of specialties separated by commas rather than full sentences. For example: “web design and graphic design, Ruby, Google Analytics, fluent in French and Spanish, knowledge of CRM solutions”
Can I control how my infographic resume looks?
You can take all the actions noted above to make sure you have the deep and valuable data that our algorithm can pull from.
You can change the color palette in the top right corner – choose anything from ‘Gotta Promotion’ to the sleek ‘Hip Start-Up.’
And stay tuned for updates to the application, including giving you more control over what exactly shows up in your infographic.
How do I refresh my infographic?
At the top of the page on your infographic, there is a button that says “refresh.” If you entered in new information, click that button to update your infographic. Be patient, there may be a small delay (up to a minute)!
How do I see my friends’ infographics?
If you know your friends have the app, check out their Facebook wall – they should have a post with a link to check out their infographic if they didn’t delete it. If they don’t have the app – invite them to get it and then check out their wall. You can also ask them to pass along their brazen.me unique link.
How do I download/print/or share my infographic?
To share:
You can share your infographic on Twitter or Facebook automatically with the ‘Share’ and ‘Tweet’ buttons of the top of your infographic. You can also send your brazen.me link (found in the footer of your infographic) to anyone via email or other social networks.
To download/print:
As a caveat up front, our infographic was designed at 72 dpi (that means web – and not print – resolution quality). It’s going to look great online (so on Facebook and on your Brazen.me link) but may decrease in resolution once you export it as a PDF and print. We’re working on making it a higher-resolution for print use, so stay tuned.
So now, without further ado, On the top of your infographic is a button that reads “Export.” If you click it, it should automatically download a PDF for you (check your browser footer or download folder on your computer if it doesn’t automatically pop up). Some browsers might take you to a PDF within your browser. In that case, just right click and hit ‘Save As’ to save as a file or ‘Print’ to print it right away.
How is my Career Success Score measured? How can I improve it?
Your Career Success Score is calculated by the number of badges you’ve earned for your Career Portfolio, and also includes partially-earned badges. So for example, you may have partially earned the Schmoozer badge if you have 300 connections (you’ll earn it in full with 500 connections) – so even that partial earn will incorporate into your score.
You can improve your Career Success Score by earning more badges!
What’s a good Career Success Score?
Here at Brazen, we have staff members ranging from 30 points to 80 points (but we’re trying to fire those people because they’re bringing down our average score! OK, just kidding). Your career success score will depend on your age, experience, school choices, lifestyle, and more. Because we believe career success can mean a lot of things (i.e. it’s definitely not just about the money), our Career Success Score incorporates a variety of factors that helped you earn your badges – like social media savvy, work-life balance, attending a best-value school, and health.
How do I get the Entrepreneur badge?
The Entrepreneur badge is given to anyone who has the words ‘Owner,’ ‘Principal,’ ‘Founder,’ or ‘Partner,’ in a job title on LinkedIn. It does not include Facebook profile information.
How do I get the Olympian badge?
To get the Olympian badge, you have to have at least five sports listed in the Activities and Interests section of your Facebook profile.

How do I get my school or company on the leaderboard? (Invite your friends!)
The best way to get your school or company on the leaderboard is to invite your Facebook friends who are in your school’s or company’s network. To make sure you have all of your networks accounted for, go to Facebook Account (in the upper-right hand corner), Account Settings and then Networks.
I don’t like how my brazen.me URL in my infographic footer has all those numbers, how do I change that?
Easy! And this is a best practice for Facebook as well. In Facebook go to Account, then Account Settings, then there is a field labeled “Username.” Whatever username is entered there is the one that will show up on your Brazen.me link. Tip: make it professional! We suggest a combination or your first or last name or initials (i.e. not professional = “cutiepatootie511” or “hotguyinswimtrunks12”).
I encountered a bug or problem! Who can I tell?
We’re sorry! We worked hard to make a bug-free product, but no one’s perfect, right? We would love for you to tell us any problems you encounter – email us at brazenme@brazencareerist.com.
