I think the starting bit should be emphasized. One of the biggest problems new entrepreneurs face (and I face it too when I think of starting a new initiative in my business) is that we overthink and analyze a lot prior to starting. This can lead to procrastination or complete inaction too. As you rightly said, start with your skills or passions, offer a solution, get feedback and let your idea evolve. Lots of entrepreneurs I speak with tell me that their winning business models emerge not months but years after they start their businesses. They always advise me to start small, tweak as you go along and let your business unfold gradually.
