We know how sick recruiters are of hearing about the importance of using social media to connect with candidates. If you’re not using it by now, you’re living under a rock, right?
But most advice posts and experts who tout sourcing via Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn say it’s essential because that’s where the candidates hang out. A recent study by Jobvite, however, offers a far better reason, one that’s actually compelling enough to get you on those networks if you’re not already.
As Mashable reports, job seekers who are recruited via social media are more likely to be hired — and for recruiters, that means a happy boss and more cash in your bank account. What’s more, those hires often stay at the new job longer than candidates found through other channels.
“Jobvite found that companies who used social recruiting enjoyed improved candidate quality and quantity, which is why 94 percent of the businesses surveyed use or plan to begin using social recruiting in 2013,” Mashable writes.
