I believe it is more of a social network (not professional at all) and bringing in potential employers on the hunt of FB profiles will scare off a lot of users, changing the entire point of Facebook; an outlet where you can completely be yourself and portray yourself in any way you like.

Social is definitely leading the merge of professional & personal and segmenting your audience on Facebook and Google + by setting up groups and circles is a way to keep some things still personal. It does take more active management though.
