Good list. Highlighting a bad job as useful learning experience is really important. As a manager, the things you do that irritate people will show up on your record as an inability to get things done. Not something you want following you around.

Tip I've learned: watch for employee recognition awards as you research a company. Rewarding longevity on the job means the organization values lack of initiative and generally has a rigid hierarchy already in place and "making a difference" will get you disliked and eventually fired. You will "grow" like a turnip here. Surprisingly, these jobs may also include recognition for "filling in when needed" or "going above and beyond." Though this makes you sound like a hero it only means you are the herd's designated dumping ground for work no one else wants.

Interesting point about getting back with confrontations (and learning what NOT to do as manager in the future). What a silver lining! On a more general level, being in a bad situation can prompt you to grow which is worthwhile.

Question for you: every situation has challenges. What is your litmus test for determining if it is really bad or just a passing bad day?
