Brazen.me Facebook infographic app

As most of you know, Brazen is obsessed with providing the very best tools, products and resources to help you kick ass in your career. Today, I’m excited to announce we’re releasing our newest and greatest tool — a Facebook app that mashes your LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter profiles to give you an awesome Infographic Resume (check mine out below!).

The idea behind the app is to give you 1) a way to easily visualize your personal profile information; 2) a unique and creative way to show an employer who you are and what you bring to the table so you can stand out from the crowd; and 3) career feedback and advice that highlights your strengths and areas you can improve.

Infographics are all the buzz right now, and there’s good reason for that. An infographic is all about clear, concise, visual communication. An effective infographic can break down complicated stats, data and ideas into a simple, easy-to-read document.  Major brands are jumping on the bandwagon and creating infographics to communicate big data and big ideas, and with our new Facebook app, we let you do the same for your resume.

The best part is, we’ve done all the heavy lifting for you. As long as you have complete and up-to-date LinkedIn and Facebook profiles, you can automatically create an infographic resume with the app. If you realize you need to update your information (like specialties, skills or honors on LinkedIn), just go ahead and update them, and refresh your infographic.  For all the fun details, you can check out the FAQ here.

As a bonus, a personal Career Portfolio is automatically created as well. Our algorithm scans your profile info on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter to determine your strengths. Those strengths are then given to you as badges with explanations of how you earned them. You can also see other badges you can earn over time with clear explanations on how to get them.  Turns out I’m a Schmoozer because I have more than 500 connections on LinkedIn, a Loyal Colleague because I’ve been at Brazen for 3+ years and almost a Social Media Ninja because I have more than the required 400 twitter followers, but less than 800 Facebook friends.

One of our key goals with this app is to strike a healthy balance between fun and practical. In this vein, you’ll also notice that you can easily export and download your infographic resume to a pdf with one click to share it with employers. Also, your unique URL will live at http://Brazen.me/u/yourfacebookid (check out the FAQ section to learn how to make sure your URL is customized to you and not a number string), so when you share this with anyone, the URL will be short, sweet and personally branded.

Some of my other favorite features include your Career Success Score (Mine is a 65, so apparently I still have some work to do), which is calculated by the number of badges you’ve earned or partially earned and is out of 100, and the Top Schools and Companies leaderboard (Penn State isn’t cracking the list, any Nittany Lions out there? Help!).

Resumes are boring, but managing and growing your career doesn’t have to be. We’ve put a lot of time, effort and late nights into building an application that can actually help you think about and improve your career in a number of ways, and be fun at the same time. Give it a shot for yourself and let us know what you think.

As always, you can continue to count on Brazen to push the boundaries when it comes to your professional life, so stay tuned for more engaging products, interesting content and important updates to help your career in the coming months.
